Beer C of E Primary School
The brief for my work with Beer School was to deliver exemplary lessons to each of the four classes which gave teachers a sense of what a quality teaching sequence was and how this could have influence high standards / outcomes. Over two days I taught in each of the for classes at the school and worked with the teaching team to identify areas of art they wanted to work on and how best to deliver these objectives. Each of the staff were keen to link in works by established artist and where possible use the stunning scenery of Beer itself to inspire the pupils.
I liaised with teachers prior to the teaching and shared my vision for the lesson and the approach that was to be used. Each class had a full morning or afternoon of teaching and this amount of time allowed for the students to work on a sequence and develop the artistic ideas. Both during and after the session the teachers evaluate the process and outcomes. To conclude then project a report was drawn up for the leadership team and governors so they could draw upon the learning for future reference.
